The Pantheon Project is well underway, and this afternoon’s session went really well. What you see below is the before and after from one photo from this session. The before is tweaked and final, from the RAW image. In total, I adjusted: the exposure, contrast, saturation, and the levels curve. I also darkened the chest a little, and brightened the torso and leg, so that they matched.
The after image is what happens to that adjusted image after it’s been polished in my editing app. Blemishes and other undesirable bits are brushed out, and the skin is smoothed. The difference between the two images is amplified when they’re compared directly like this, and maybe it makes it look like I’m doing way more to separate the result from the reality, but I rationalize it thusly: my lights penetrate the skin and what the camera sees is generally a lot worse than what the human eye sees. I’m fixing things to bring them back to what they should be, and then just a little bit on top of that.
Anyway, this is Kat, and she did very well for her first nude shoot. With a strange old man, in a shed, in a bad part of town. =D
