The original image is straight out of the camera, no adjustments at all: it&#8217;s well lit, but there&#8217;s no <i>context<\/i>.  I remember very clearly when I had the revelation, sometime between this image in 2012 and now, that I didn&#8217;t have to fill the frame with the performer.  Giving some space around the body gives it a place.  Back in 2012, it felt like the performer was <b>in your face<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>In this case it sort of makes sense, because we were shooting in the studio before it was finished, and if I didn&#8217;t crop this tightly you&#8217;d get a lot of wasted detail in the frame. She said the edited image may have been lost because she didn&#8217;t know where it was, so I checked my archives and&#8230;  Well then.  Eight years ago <i>I didn&#8217;t do any editing<\/i>.  Images were shot, the raw files adjusted to taste, and then JPGs were served up to the client.<\/p>\n<p>So I took that image and edited it, and it&#8217;s interesting to see what a difference eight years makes.  This particular image didn&#8217;t need the pink toning, the original was quite well coloured as it was, but I prefer it over the original and so does the client.
