<\/a><\/p>\nThe next thing was cropping down to the part I wanted, getting rid of the ceiling, and you can see in this image where I selected the floor beneath her. Since I needed more space beneath her, I removed this selected part of the floor and stretched it vertically by about 200%. Then I expanded the canvas size of the original to accomodate, and threw the stretched floor back in. Since it wasn’t too<\/i> extreme a stretching, and was mostly blank space, it fit back into the original image easily and didn’t require any effort to blend it in.<\/p>\n
This is the floor section by itself. Obviously I cut around her foot so it didn’t get stretched. <\/p>\n And from there, the usual smoothing and blemish removal. I hate editing hair, but this one was pretty easy to fix.<\/p>\n Here’s the final image. The client felt that, since she was already quite pale, my low-saturation treatment wasn’t quite to her preference, so I adjusted it for her. Compare the two: the differences are subtle, but significant, and she was very happy with what I delivered.<\/p>\n And then I went a little bit nuts with the new techniques I’ve been playing with. I dropped the white balance into the very blue, and threw a warmer, redder gradient into the top corner. I added some lens flare because that’s always cool, and… Dang, I’m really happy with this. I showed the client and it was immediately her favourite shot.<\/p>\n This is an image from the same shoot discussed in the previous post<\/a>, in its raw, edited and hyper-edited states.
